EKCO Initiative Honors Innovative Oklahoma Teachers

Every Kid Counts Oklahoma is proud to announce a new partnership with Griffin news stations - News on 6 in Tulsa and News 9 in OKC - to honor Oklahoma’s innovative teachers!

EKCO loves highlighting the many great things happening in classrooms all over the state, and we want to increase awareness of the accomplishments by Oklahoma’s teachers while also rewarding them with a direct gift for them or their classroom.

“Tomorrow’s innovators are in the hands of today’s Oklahoma school teachers,” said Jill Shero, EKCO’s Grassroots Director. “We cannot create a renaissance of education in our state without the valuable voices and experiences of our educators.”

Oklahomans can submit their innovative teacher nominations via an online form. From these nominees, one teacher will be selected to be highlighted on TV and social media each week. Then, each month one of the previous four weekly winners will be chosen to receive a $1,000 check from EKCO in a live TV segment!

You can watch News 9 (OKC) at 6 a.m. and News on 6 (Tulsa) at 4 p.m. on Mondays throughout March, April and May to see the weekly winners announced. Monthly winners will be presented with their check in a TV segment at the end of each month.

EKCO needs your help in nominating the innovative teachers in your school or area. Whether it's cutting-edge technology, creative projects, community building opportunities, or something else, we want to hear about and honor the innovative teachers you know! To do this, simply fill out the entry form below and nominate a teacher today!
